Aakash Saha is a celebrated classical guitarist, chamber musician, composer and teacher from India. He has trained for 6 years directly under legendary classical guitarist Denis Azabagic (Bosnia-USA) and in the fall of 2015 he completed his Bachelor’s of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Mr. Azabagic’s studio at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University.

Aakash’s musical journey has taken him to both South and North America and Europe. He has participated in Twents Guitar Festival (Netherlands), Koblenz Guitar Festival (Germany) and Tampere Guitar Festival (Finland). He has attended seminars and taken master-classes from Denis Azabagic (Bosnia-USA), Marcin Dylla (Poland), Zoran Dukic (Bosnia), Fabio Zanon (Brazil), Texas Guitar Quartet (USA), Duo Melis (Greece-Spain), Gaëlle Solal (France), Johannes Moller (Sweden), Judicaël Perroy (France), Carlos Rivera (USA), Carle Costa (Uruguay), Pavel Steidl (Czech Republic), Jose Antonio Escobar (Chile) and Adam del Monte (USA).

Aakash won second prize in his first international guitar competition at Twents Guitar Festival in 2010. He then moved to Chile, South America for two months to take private lessons with Jose Antonio Escobar and then on to Berlin for one month to learn under Carle Costa.

Aakash has served as a music director for feature length and short films. In the winter of 2014 Aakash collaborated with guitar prodigy Johannes Moller (Sweden) and played concerts around Calcutta and recorded an album named India. He has also worked with renowned musicians such as Bickram Ghosh.

Aakash is one of the founders of Calcutta Classical Guitar Society and director of the inaugural Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival & Competition, 2010, the first international classical guitar festival in India, which as of now has completed its sixth edition and has become the largest festival in Asia, with editions in Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. Aakash is closely associated with the Indian Guitar Federation and the Asian Guitar Federation, which have helped form the Nagaland Classical Guitar Society, the Delhi Classical Guitar Society, the Mumbai Classical Guitar Society, the Pune Classical Guitar Society, the Bangalore Classical Guitar Society and the Chennai Classical Guitar Society.

Aakash is the featured artiste at the Thailand International Guitar Festival and Competition 2016, and also has recently been invited to Sri Lanka by Indian Cultural Centre and Amarnath Guitar Academy for a concert and masterclass tour in Sri Lanka having performed in Colombo and Kandy.

Aakash plays a Paulino Bernabe guitar and uses Savarez hard tension strings.
